Comodo Cybersecurity, a company which offers threat intelligence and cyber defense services have announced that one in 100 emails received by companies is of Phishing genre. And the most frequently targeted brands are Microsoft(19%) , PayPal(17%) and Google(9.7%).
According to the latest Global Threat Report from Comodo Cybersecurity, the three phishing subject-lines ranking at the top in this year were
• Your account will be locked—PayPal (40 percent)
• Info– FedEx(10 Percent)

Here, the researchers of Comodo Security stressed on one particular phishing attack email regarding Microsoft Azure’s Newsletter. “These correlations stand out in the data, beyond the realm of coincidence”, said Fateh Orhan, Vice President, Comodo Cybersecurity Threat Research Labs.
Among other things highlighted in the survey, the researchers emphasized the concerning increase in malware deployment around the world. Comodo researchers have documented the impact of malware on elections held in Russia, Turkey, Mali, Sierra Leone, Azerbaijan, and Columbia.
Also, the security report also highlighted the fact that malware detection has also lead to a geopolitical crisis- such as Israel Palestine conflict, military operations of Saudi Arabia against Yemen and Iran Nuclear Weapons agreement along with Syrian civil war.
