ANNAPOLIS, Md.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Netography, the security company for the atomized network, today announced it has appointed Jennifer Leggio as Chief Marketing Officer and Joel Esler as Vice President of Threat Research. The hirings, which add additional power to the company’s strong leadership team, come on the heels of Netography’s recent $45 million in Series A funding.
“Netography is intent on enabling companies to defend their atomized networks, and we need proven leaders to help bring our vision to life. Joel and Jennifer are two of the top minds in their respective fields and will bring their skills and passion to help us deliver a new vision for network security,” said Martin Roesch, Chief Executive Officer, Netography. “Netography experienced a phenomenal year in 2021 and, with an expanded leadership team in place, is poised for even greater success in 2022.”
An accomplished cybersecurity leader and executive, Leggio brings with her more than 20 years of experience in security marketing, communications, business strategy, and operations. She’s been a Chief Marketing Officer for several years and her specialties are build-to-exit (Fortinet, Sourcefire), build-to-grow (Digital Shadows, Flashpoint), and rebuild-for-strength (Claroty, Virsec). Leggio was recognized by SC Media in 2019 as a fierce advocate of ethical marketing programs that focus on facts rather than fear. She brings this passion to Netography to drive the company’s brand awareness, demand and pipeline generation, and communications, all to ultimately support the company’s go-to-market and customer acquisition goals.
Prior to joining Netography, Esler served as Senior Manager for the Communities Division and Strategy of Cisco Talos Security Intelligence and Research Group, where he managed much of the go-to-market strategy for research at Talos, as well as managing the Snort and ClamAV open source projects. At Netography he will lead the newly established Threat Research team, which will develop an ecosystem of tools, libraries, and community resources, using state-of-the-art machine learning (ML) to find both current and emerging threats.
In late 2021, Netography announced the appointment of industry luminary Martin Roesch as CEO, while co-founder Barrett Lyon, network security pioneer, moved into the role of Chief Architect. Most recently, Netography appointed Ben Holladay as Chief Revenue Officer and Dan Ramaswami as Vice President of Field Engineering to capitalize on strong market demand for Netography’s offerings.
Netography’s award-winning, cloud-native SaaS NDR is the only product on the market built to secure the atomized network – the complex, multi-cloud, plus on-premises, plus legacy infrastructure that comprise most enterprise networks today. Netography ingests network metadata from all these disparate systems, enriches it, and provides visibility and attack detection in a much simpler and easier to manage package than traditional network detection and response (NDR) solutions, while providing reusable integrations to block, reroute, orchestrate, and inform or alert. The company’s technology deploys, runs, and scales using the full power of the cloud, without introducing additional physical or virtual sensors or appliances to manage, and without the challenges of unwieldy full packet capture and deep packet inspection solutions.
