Dear (ISC)² Members, Associates and Candidates:
I hope this message finds you well. As 2022 comes to an end, I am grateful for the opportunity to reflect on the past year and all we have achieved together.
Launching an entry-level certification – the first new (ISC)² certification in more than five years – was a feat unto itself. More importantly, though, it demonstrates our commitment to creating new pathways into cybersecurity for many career-hopefuls. We are happy to already have welcomed more than 5,500 new Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) holders into our membership ranks.
Enabling anyone passionate about a cybersecurity career to learn and grow with us was the driving force behind (ISC)² Candidate. Since its launch in September, more than 115,000 individuals have signed up to become (ISC)² Candidates, many of whom are part of our One Million Certified in Cybersecurity pledge to help close the workforce gap.
To put that growth into perspective, we started the year with nearly 170,000 certified Members and Associates. Now, our community has grown to nearly 300,000 Members, Associates and Candidates. 2022 was a year when (ISC)² put solutions into action to address our global cybersecurity workforce gap.
Speaking of community, what a joy to gather together in-person for events in Singapore, London and Washington, DC – and more than 3,000 of you joined us, either in-person or virtually, for (ISC)² Security Congress in Las Vegas.
Here are a few more milestones to celebrate:
- CISSP, CCSP and SSCP exams are now all available in English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German and Spanish with CC soon to follow
- Launched new (ISC)² certificate program in cloud (3), risk management (3) and leadership (5)
- Concluded a second pilot test on online examinations
- Produced more than 217+ webinars offering free learning and CPE opportunities
- Hosted 3 virtual SECURE Summits and 3 in-person SECURE Summits
- Engaged with nearly 4,000 volunteers around the world, who contributed more than 31,000 hours of service
- Published the annual (ISC)² Cybersecurity Workforce Study with our largest research pool yet of more than 11,000 participants
As momentous as 2022 was for (ISC)² and the cybersecurity profession, together, we’ll scale even more mountains in 2023 and beyond. And, you can count on us to provide resources, services and education that will enrich your careers and enable you to excel.
Thank you for all you do to inspire a safe and secure cyber world. Be safe and well this holiday season.
Clar Rosso
(ISC)² CEO
