American software company Netskope has made an official announcement yesterday that it has acquired Sift Security for an undisclosed amount. Thus with the purchase the former plans to integrate the latter’s ‘Cloud Hunter’ product into its cloud security platform to help customers address data loss prevention (DLP), threat protection, continuous configuration and posture management.
Cloud Hunter offered by Sift Security uses machine learning, analytics, and graph visualization to detect and respond to threats across IaaS platforms including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.
By integrating the product of Sift, Netskope can better correlate, visualize, detect and remediate data breaches and cyber threats in a timely manner with Infrastructure as service environments (IaaS).
Sources reporting to Cybersecurity Insiders say that Sift Security CEO Neil King will join Netskope from this month end and will begin holding a designation of lead product strategy and management for Netskope for IaaS.
Note 1- In the year 2012, Netskope started a business as a Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) and rose to $231.4 million. In March, the company decided to expand its cloud security platform by including web access capabilities which include web traffic monitoring, threat detection, data protection, web classification and visibility across web use.
Note 2– Sift Security which is based in California applies a modern approach to secure user’s cloud-centric infrastructure, enabling them to proactive protect their digital assets in dynamic cloud environments. In fact, the company’s CloudHunter differentiates technology and analytics and helps protect its users’ cloud infrastructure against all cyber threats.
