We all know that the government of the United States has seized all documents pertaining to Wikileaks data which includes the info related to the Democratic National Committee email hack by Russian hackers. Information is now out that the seized data also includes the messages exchanged by Mr. Assange with alleged Russian hackers.
Till date, there is no confirmation from the law enforcement authorities that Julian Assange has been charged with anything.
However, all doesn’t seem to be bright for the Queensland, Australia born Computer programmer turned political fugitive of Britain in this year.
News is out that the court in Virginia as named Assange as an accused in a lawsuit which can lead to the pronouncement of a criminal charge against Assange. But the proceedings might take a lot of time to name an accused on a specific note.
Leonie Brinkema, the US district judge doesn’t want to give any tip-off to the press as off now, as a lot has to be proved against Assange. But a source close to her says that the editor in chief for Wikileaks might face a tough time in this year as some evidence provided by Twitter in last November clearly indicts the 47-year-old as a conspirator in the case of Russian hack on Hillary Clinton’s private email server in 2016.
Now to those who are unaware of the situation, here’s a bit of summary on the issue. During the election primaries before the US 2016 polls, the internet buzzed with news that Wikileaks had all the email conversation of Hillary Clinton which was siphoned from her private email server by Russian intelligence. The then secretary of state said that the conspiracy was hatched by the Russian government to tarnish the image among the US populace in order to give extra mileage to Donald Trump run for the US Presidential post.
Donald Trump shrugged off these allegations made by Ms. Clinton by saying that she was drawing a political witch hunt caused due to hysteria about Russia.
Both Assange and Trump denied any connection or cooperation with Russia after the US 2016 elections and said that the lady in question was just giving a lame excuse for losing the polls.
Now coming back to the title, only time can answer to the question on whether Julian Paul Hawkins aka Assange will get arrested in this year for conspiring with Russia in tarnishing the image of Ms. Clinton among the US Populace before the 2016 Presidential Polls.
