Dare to hack Tesla Model 3 Electric Car and win $1 million

Tesla Inc has thrown a challenge to all hackers around the world to hack into its new Model 3 Car and win a cash price of $1 million. Yes, you’ve read it right!

Tesla Motors chief Elon Musk has challenged the world to break into its Tesla Model 3 Electric Car’s software and win a cash prize ranging from $35,000 to $250,000. All you have to do is to find the vulnerabilities in the operational software, prove it to the world and then carry the cash prize home.

Pwn2Own Security Conference which was sponsored to a large extent by Tesla Inc stands as a platform where hackers can display their talent.

Since 2007, the security conference is in news for tech enthusiasts to do vulnerability research and this is where Tesla rewards them with the best.

The researchers who found success are also being named on Tesla’s website in the Tesla Security Researcher Hall of fame, which now is in diminishing form.

In the year 2013, 18 researchers were rewarded by Tesla and the number dropped to seven in 2014 and two in 2016. From the past two years, only 2 vulnerabilities were discovered and were rewarded by a cash prize by Tesla.

Note- Tesla Model 3 Electric Car is a mid-sized compact sedan which can run for 220 miles on a single recharge. It has a dashboard with a single touch screen and carries a fill self-driving hardware to become operational in the future. Available in 3 models i.e Standard, Mid-range and long range, the car is priced between $35,000 to $63,000 USD. This smartly designed automotive is futuristic and is pollution free and can reach top speeds of 155 miles per hour( top end model only). Tesla’s Model 3 cars in all variants are equipped with autonomous capabilities such as 1 radar, 8 cameras, 12 sonars, and AI computer.
