Pew survey says 8 out of 10 in the US are afraid of Cyber Attacks

A survey conducted by the American research firm PEW says that 8 in every 10 people in the United States live in a fear of cyber attacks. And the concerns grew from the year 2017 when the populace of united states learned that Russian intelligence succeeded in influencing the US 2016 polls downing the grade of Hillary Clinton and favoring the win of the 45th US President Donald Trump.

Pew Research Center study further adds that most of the populace in North America are living with a feeling that the next elections will definitely be tampered via a cyber attack until & unless the Trump administration does something on it.

The highlight of the survey is the fact that over 67 % of Russian feel that their nation was ready for a major cyber incident and was sure that their president Vladimir Putin will take control of the situation if anything untoward happens.

But half or more of some of the world’s largest economies including Germany and Japan say that they were not well prepared to face cyber attacks.

As people and businesses are falling prey to sophisticated cyber attacks, it is better if governments of respective developed nations take the matter seriously and raise their defenses against cyber threats. The same applies to the United States where the critical infrastructure is under constant threat from adversaries like China, Russia, and the latest Iran.

Hope, someone from the white house has taken a note of it and have started to find solutions to such troubles. Otherwise, the populace of America can fall into serious trouble if something like a blackout occurs in the form of a cyber attack.
