Emails to be replaced by Facebook messenger…but are you sure

Social media has emerged as a powerful marketing tool for companies to promote their products and stand out of the competition by highlighting their best to customers. But Grant Fraser, the CEO of Digitonic says that social messaging will soon succeed in replacing emails for marketing needs, as businesses are showing a lot of interest in embracing AI chatbots to keep in touch with their customers and clients.

“Apps such as Facebook Messenger could soon replace emails as business marketing tools,” said CEO of Digitronic as marketing through social media platforms such as WhatsApp is still being regarded as the best mediums to send messages to large groups of people.

However, chatbots clicks-through-rates are far higher-15%-60% when evaluated with the 4% average on emails, due to the delivery of a more customized experience that the web traffic is more likely to engage.

“I am sure by the year 2020, 8 in 10 companies will be intending to engage their customers via Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp or another form of social messaging services said, Mr. Fraser.

Note 1- Currently, the official stats released by Mark Zuckerberg’s company say that more than 300,000 of its chatbots are being used as marketing streams to interact with prospects, customers, and clients.

Note 2- As Chatbots perform conversations with customers via Artificial Intelligence or computer software and can be customized on “Messenger” to ask specific or open-minded questions, they can prove handy for marketing to a certain extent.

As ‘a one size fits all’ approach is no longer adequate, the best way is to stay ahead of the fast-evolving curve with chatbots to get involved as soon as possible feels Frazer.

Now coming to the vision of Messenger replacing marketing email services on a complete note- Well, this seems to be a bit tricky question to answer.

Due to data privacy concerns, the whole world, especially those using the Facebook services in UK and USA, are intending to switch to other platforms. And with the recent official announcement that WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook are going to be merged, there is news that most of the Facebook users are showing a lot of interest in deleting their accounts than retaining it.

When it comes to business accounts, well there is a chance that most of the company users will stick to the marketing campaigns as it is currently the happening trend. But not sure when and where the trend is going to end- Like how people showed interest in scraping down their marketing campaigns from Google+ due to the service closure in April this year.

So, gone are the days when the reliability over a particular technology was ripe.

Now, the trend is stick to the themes which are currently buzzing and dump it when things start turning negative to you or your business.

Remember, there is always a better option or alternative in this competitive world. The only thing is that you need to find it out at the right time.
