No Cyber Attack on Iran says Ministry

Iran has cleared the air that there has been no cyberattack on its digital assets operating in Oil Refineries as claimed by some sources from western media.

According to a press statement released by the Government’s Cyber Security Office to Times of Israel, no successful cyberattack was witnessed on oil refineries and so disruption claims reported by some western media resources is false.

The country also clarified that the country’s web connectivity with the world was intact in contrary to the statement issued by NetBlocks on Saturday that a DDoS attack on the central web servers launched by the US Pentagon has led to the shut down of internet services in & around Tehran- the capital region of Iran.

Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi, the Telecom Minister of Iran has acknowledged the news and said that his country was facing extreme cyber terrorism from adversary nations operating in the West. He also sarcastically warned the west that if this continues, then his country has the potential to respond to the activity with a high vengeance.

Referring to the Stuxnet virus hitting the power grids of Iran in 2010, Minister Javad Azari said that Israel and US which developed the malware have to heavily pay for their deeds shortly.

Note- US Media claims that Pentagon in association with UK’s NCSC launched a cyber attack on the IT infrastructure of Iran’s oil refineries in retaliation to the drone attack launched on the oil refineries of Saudi Aramco on Sept 14th, 2019.
