Intel has launched a dedicated team of hackers whose job is to hack into the processors developed by the company, thus paving way to any critical vulnerabilities that hackers can later exploit.
Dubbed as iStare researchers and launched in 2016, the team of around 20 ethical hackers are designated to do the job of attacking all the future models launched by the company to find any susceptibilities.
Actually, this job was assigned to 2-3 professionals working for Intel Security Threat Analysis till a few years ago. But since the company wanted a dedicated team to provide security analysis; it started iSTARE.
iSTARE is a team working from Israel and USA and is busy finding flaws, mistakes and logical inconsistencies in codes.
There is also a team of hardware hackers in iSTARE whose primary job is to crack open computer cases and circuit boards and alter electromagnetic pulses determining the electrons free flow.
Uri Bear, the Senior Security Analyst working for Intel’s product development and security assurance department, stated that the team’s major task was to craft next generation attacks and defenses against Intel chips and thereafter they are assigned the duty of mitigating the cyber risks.
On the business front, Intel has announced that it will cut off all its business ties with Russia and will stop providing its computing chips to Moscow for military and commercial operations. Google has also announced that it will disallow its YouTube streaming in the Vladimir Putin led nation until it stops the war with Ukraine.
In the meantime, nations like Australia and New Zealand are pledging to offer financial and arms support to Ukraine capital Kyiv that is struggling to take down the military of Russia from invading and taking control of the capital.
