Anonymous leaks a million emails from Russian state media

Anonymous, an internationally recognized hacking group, has leaked over 900,000 emails belonging to Russian state media channels. Reports are in that the emails spanning over 20 years was stolen from an archival database running in Moscow.

Ukrainian hacktivists’ group, known as Network Battalion, made the leak 65 aka NB65 having links to Anonymous.

Highly placed sources state NB65 was also behind the source code steal of Antivirus software supplier Kaspersky after the hacktivists group knocked down the servers of the Russia-based security firm in mid-March this year.

The latest email leak belongs to All Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK) and aims to publish the entire leak on DDoSecrets.

Emma Best, the co-founder of DDoSecrets, admitted the leak as serious as it contains sensitive information related to Russian military.

Since February 24th, 2022, i.e. the day when Russia started its war invasion on Ukraine, Anonymous declared a war on the Putin led government by hacking and disrupting the servers operating for news agencies TASS, Fontanka, Kommersant, and Kremlin funded RT.

On March 30th, 2022, the group leaked out personal details of about 120, 000 Russian soldiers who were officially taking part in the war with Ukraine. And the details include the passport numbers of the soldiers, their home addresses, names and contact details.

NOTE- In March first week Anonymous declared a cyber war of Vladimir Putin led nation and pledged that it will bring the nation’s critical infrastructure to its knees. So far, the hacking group has leaked critical information about the Russian federation military and media and has assured that it will reappear on the web after hacking into the nuclear infrastructure of the nation and after taking control of it on an entire note.
