Microsoft has taken a vow to fill in the vacant 3.5 million cybersecurity jobs on a global note by expanding its security skilling initiative to additional 23 countries. The plan is to fill in the vacancies as quickly as possible and help diversify the industry.
As per Kate Behnken, the VP and Lead of Microsoft Philanthropies, there is a need to fill in 3.5 million jobs in the security industry by 2025.
And to fill in the void, the United States, under the leadership of ex-president Donald Trump, took the initiative in 2018 to partner with about 135 community colleges and develop student skills as per the current cyber landscape.
Companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and Facebook provided related funding and the resources to skill the students from reputed institutions as per the needed talent.
Satya Nadella led company has taken a step forward now in 2022 and is aiming to get ahead of the demand by including nations like Germany, South Africa, Romania, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, France, Denmark, Colombia, Belgium, Australia, Brazil, Canada, India into the hunt for the talent pool.
Thus, from now on, the tech giant will infuse funds and resources into such nations to nurture required talent from local schools, non-profit organizations, governments, and businesses applicable to the security field.
The plan is to skill the talent to first fill in the gap in the country first and then introduce them to international communities to fill the job vacancies in other countries on the international level.
Windows OS giant will also try its best to encourage the female workforce to join the job stream. And once certified, they will be encouraged to pick up the security stream by offering smart perks and lucrative pay packages.
