Washington Local Schools have disclosed that the communication systems on its premises were down because of a cyber attack that affected phones, the Internet, Wi-Fi network, email service and Google Classroom to a great extent.
Reports are in that the IT staff on the school premises are working 24×7 to bring back the communication systems to normalcy. But news is out that it can take some time for the recovery and so the school district is thinking to install a Swift K12 System to keep in touch with the parents of the students.
Currently, it’s time for the schools to conduct exams and end the academic year and so Washington Local Schools are busy in concluding that procedure in the next few days. At the same time, the educational institution has printed the details of the cyber attack and will send it as an official letter to the parents through students to keep them updated.
Note- On May 18th, 2022 Washington Local Schools released a press statement that all teachers will get a $2k pay hike in their salaries from next year. And those who have completed their 10-year term in teaching in the school will be given a $5,000 pay hike with an assurance that the hire will double after every 5 years after that.
This will put an additional burden of $7.8 million on the school’s annual budget, accounting for $85 million per year.
