Google has launched Chronicle Security Operations to bring down its latest two acquisitions Mandiant and Siemplify under one umbrella. The internet juggernauts plan is to bring all its cybersecurity related purchases under one roof, so that its response to threats might pick up with speed, scale and intelligence.
Chronicle Security Operations is a cloud-based software suite that was born on October 11th,2022 and is better enabled to respond to threats and investigate proactively.
So, from now on, all security related operations will be integrated into the Chronicle brand. Thus, by uniting the acquired technologies, Siemplify’s threat intelligence and Mandiant incident exposure management will strengthen the customers of Google Cloud to a further extent.
Soon, there is a high possibility of Siemplify be renamed as Chronicle SOAR and its security analytics capabilities will be named as Chronicle SIEM.
NOTE 1- In January this year Google announced it is going to gain Israeli-based startup Siemplify for $500 million. The company was found in 2015 by Amos Stern and Alon Cohen. Previously, Garry Fatikhov served as a COO and after acquisition the company is said to be renamed by mid next year.
NOTE 2- In September 2022, Mandiant was acquired by Google for $5.4 billion. The process actually started in March this year and ended up when FireEye, the previous owner of the security firm, accepted the offer, thus breaking up the $1.2 billion deal with Symphony Technology Group.
