So far, the geologists across the globe had a brief opportunity to detect life on Mars. But a new study says that the technology of Artificial Intelligence (AI) can help in detecting the hidden patterns withing a geographical data and assure whether there is any existence of life on the second smallest planet in the solar system.
Using AI and ML tools, an international team of 50 scientists launched a mission to detect extra-terrestrial life on the 4th planet from the Sun. Although only a little-bit of success was attained on this note, it surely looks promising, say experts from SETI Institute.
All the details have been published in Nature Astronomy with the title ‘Orbit-to-Ground framework to decode and Predict Biosignature Patterns in Terrestrial Analogues’.
In another related news, the United States Geological Survey has started working on a project to predict earthquakes beforehand, with the use of Artificial Intelligence.
Practically speaking, predicting an earthquake is very difficult, as it is next to impossible to detect earthquakes from seismic data before the event occurs. Especially when our mother earth is always recorded to be rumbling and grumbling, turning the detection systems faulty to the most extent.
Because of such difficulties, we failed in preventing many lives claiming earthquakes, including the most recent that occurred in Turkey and Syria that was recorded to be 6.8 in magnitude on Richter scale.
So, what’s the answer then?
Well, currently, the available tech to detect such earthquakes or life on Mars might be not up to the mark. But with the placement of learnt folks around the world, it doesn’t take much time to turn the tables upright!
