ConnectWise offers Technology Companies a Cyber Threat Sharing Hub

Florida based company ConnectWise has announced that it is offering a Cyber Threat Sharing hub for technology companies for sharing info about Cybersecurity threats luring in the current cyber landscape.

The objective of this platform will be to offer real-time actionable intelligence to mitigate the impacts of the threats to Technology Solution Providers(TSPs).

ConnectWise has released a press statement on this note stating that the Intelligence sharing hub dubbed as Technology Solution Provider Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (TSP- ISAO) will help member companies educate their workforce on how to deal with the threats in a wise way.

Commencement of such an Organizational hub was vital to tech companies as recently Department of Homeland Security(DHS) has suggested that Managed Service Providers(MSPs) were coming under constant cyber threat from state-funded hacking groups such as APT10 which try to implicate activities such as stealing IP addresses and other sensitive data from critical infrastructures for state-funded cyber-espionage campaigns.

Recently discovered APT10 acts as a good example to prove the scenario where the Chinese hacking group is alleged to run a series of cyber attack campaigns dubbed as “Operation Cloudhopper” on 45 MSPs which run operations across 12 countries.

DHS has opened up in a statement released in October last year which states that the group has so far stolen 1000s of IP addresses and sensitive info from multinational corporations which includes HPE and IBM among the victims.

ConnectWise has clarified that it’s Cyber Threat sharing hub will be in accordance to the US Anti-Trust Laws which supports sharing of cyber threat info as truly valid by Federal Trade Commission and Justice Department’s statement in 2014.

Note – APT 10 is Advanced Persistent Threat 10 Group which is associated with the Chinese Ministry of State Security’s Tianjin State Security Bureau.
