All you ‘White Hat’ hackers over there get ready for the iOS Security Research Device (SRD) program where a selected set of hackers from the white listed community will be eligible to test research iPhones from Apple Inc to win a reward as a part of Bug Bounty rewards program.

As per the terms revealed by Apple Inc on an official note, all those hackers who have won the trust of tech manufactures, blog operators and software developers in years will be eligible to sign up for the iOS development program where the American tech giant will send them its iPhones to study the vulnerabilities existing them otherwise exploited by hackers.

Security analysts say that the open-mindedness of Apple Inc will lead way in offering a more secure product in future, winning the trust of its users on an eventual note. Also, by enrolling more security researchers, the iPhone maker will ensure that more testing done on its devices to achieve better security in a shot span of time.

Although, as a part of the research program, the researchers may keep the devices for a 12-month period; Apple will remain as the sole proprietor of the device.

Researchers who have got the opportunity to get their hands on the research phones will be allowed to report the vulnerability through a proper channel like find, test, validate and verify/confirm the vulnerability.

We also expect google to follow the suit in coming weeks as it is also planning to allow researchers to discover security flaws in its esteemed ‘Pixel’ series of phones.
