A ransomware attack launched on the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center has shaken the National cyber directorate so much that it issued an economic warning to the healthcare sector operating across the country urging them to fix their cybersecurity defenses as early as possible.
Statement released on a combined note by the Cybersecurity directorate and the Ministry of Health says that those involved in the business of medical treatment and service should start the review of their IT infrastructure before it’s too late.
Israel’s National Cybersecurity Directorate is readying itself to set up a helpline that will help educate, analyzing, mitigating the cyber threats of all range. Therefore, companies needing or willing to seek help can pretty soon contact the centralized platform to keep their businesses secure from ransomware attacks.
Going with the second news that is trending on Google, the US Authorities have issued an alert that the water systems across the state are on the verge of being targeted by ransomware and spear phishing attacks by exploiting insecure RDPs and outdated operating systems.
FBI, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) and the National Security Agency (NSA) along with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a collective alert stating some state funded actors were and will try to exploit the IT and OT systems of water utilities across the 50 states, especially of those in Florida, New York, Texas and California- as all these states have reached their digital development standards to the peak.
