PHOENIX–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Truyo, the leader in truly automated consent and data privacy rights management, and Egnyte, the secure platform for content collaboration and governance, have launched a privacy management educational series to address the ever-evolving landscape of privacy legislation, the currently proposed federal legislation (ADPPA), and how US businesses can prepare with technology for the changes going in effect in 2023.
Geared toward privacy professionals and businesses of all sizes, the series includes three webinars throughout September:
- Sept. 13: The American Data Privacy & Protection Act’s (ADPPA) Impact on Privacy in the US. Speakers Jon Leibowitz, former chair of the FTC, and David Walton from the law firm Fisher Phillips will expand on what the introduction of the ADPPA means for possible federal legislation and how it could change the way US companies manage privacy.
- Sept. 22: The Technology Driving Privacy Management for US Companies. Guest speakers Enza Iannopollo from Forrester and Jon Leibowitz will discuss the role of technology in privacy management and compliance as new states add privacy laws and federal legislation becomes possible.
- Sept. 27: Privacy Tools and Technology for Managing Compliance. Michael Hellbusch, Partner at Rutan & Tucker, will join Dan Clarke of Truyo and Jeff Sizemore from Egnyte to discuss the use of technology to automate data privacy and governance to reduce cybersecurity risk factors.
“In the past year alone, we’ve seen the introduction of at least four new privacy laws, each very nuanced in requirements,” said Dan Clarke, president of Truyo. “This has made the already complex issue of privacy compliance even more complex and it has created a lot of confusion. This educational series aims to shed light on those issues and help privacy professionals and businesses understand what is needed to maintain compliance.”
Each one-hour-long session will begin at 8:30 a.m. PDT and will go in-depth on the policies shaping the future of privacy in the US and the technology helping US companies comply. The series will provide expert insight from industry insiders to help US businesses and privacy professionals understand and prepare for the privacy changes that will go into effect in 2023.
“Most businesses have amassed more data than they even realize and if they don’t start preparing now, they’ll be in a vulnerable spot when privacy laws go into effect next year,” said Jeff Sizemore, chief governance officer at Egnyte. “That’s why we put this educational series together––to help them understand what will be expected and how they can get compliant now.”
