France based company Thales, that is into the business segment of aerospace and defense has made an official statement that it is going acquire data security firm Imperva for $3.5 billion. Earlier the company was owned by Thoma Bravo and is now going into the hands of Thales, with the deal to get completed by this year end.
Imperva, that majorly focuses in securing applications, information and IT infrastructure of its users has acknowledged the news and felt elated to be part of the technology served by its new parent company.
In the past two years, Thales made similar purchases of two tech companies in the relative field. Excellium stands first in the deal, while Gemalto stood second on par with the acquisition.
Imperva was founded in the year 2002 in Israel and then went public at the New York stock exchange in 2011. It was then purchased by Thoma Bravo in 2019 for $2.3 billion and is now a part of Thales cybersecurity portfolio.
NOTE- Thales is a French conglomerate that is into manufacturing of electrical systems and devices pertaining to aerospace, military, and transportation sectors. Headquartered in Paris and operating in over 56 countries, the business stands as the 7th largest defense contractors in the world with over 55% sales coming from military equipment trade. In recent times, the company also started manufacturing in-flight entertainment equipment and is planning to offer cybersecurity services by this year end. After gaining technology from Imperva, Excellium and Gemalto the business is all set to re-launch its services under a new brand name- subject to confirmation.
