It was revealed in BBC Tonight that Russia is planning to launch a cyber attack on London after next month’s 2018 FIFA World Cup. The news source added that the attack will be severe and would bring the City of London to a standstill.
The Minister who revealed this info to Nicholas Watt, Newsnight’s Political Editor, chose to remain anonymous for reasons.
However, he did not mince his words in allegedly saying “Things are eerily quiet on the Russian Front” and the lack of action is making the government feel uneasy.
As per the BBC Tonight story, the first attack from Russian is said to disrupt the financial sector of United Kingdom and the next will target other critical infrastructure including healthcare.
The news story concluded that Putin will be launching all such attacks in a sophisticated manner and will strongly be aiming to bring the UK to knees. The attack will be engraved in the history of Britain and will remain as a masterpiece to depict cyber warfare to traditional military attack.

Russia will be hosting the next Football World Cup 2018 Tournament from June 14th, 2018 and will be holding its conclusion on July 15th,2018.
The 21st FIFA World Cup will see the participation of 32 National Teams which includes the defending champions Germany. A total of 64 matches will be played in 12 venues located in 11 cities. The final of the FIFA World Cup 2018 will be held at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow- the capital of Russia on July 15th of this year.
Note- Russian President Vladimir Putin is said to inaugurate the opening ceremony of FIFA 2018.
