Airbus Cybersecurity, the security arm of Airbus SE is said to have bagged a 6-year contract to protect the IT systems of 17 European Institutions, services, and agencies. The company which has over 750 employees will be offering services which include designing cybersecurity services, detection and monitoring of networks.
The European Institutions protection contract covers coordinated and upgraded cyber protection- including automated surveillance, warning, detection and response, training and studies to develop a cybersecurity road-map to tackle future cyber threats.
“We’ll be offering an overarching framework agreement which includes a holistic approach using a blueprint benefiting European Institutions”, said Markus Braendle, Senior VP and Head of Airbus Cybersecurity.
As the list of cyber adversaries is growing day by day to the countries in West, cybersecurity has become a major concern for them while transforming initiatives to digitize end to end processes. As state-sponsored cyber espionage adds fuel to these concerns, governments are being forced to take up initiatives for tackling threats of any range on their IT assets.
“Here’s where Airbus Cybersecurity will be protecting EU institutions from all sorts of Cyber Threats”, said Dirk Hoke, CEO of Airbus Defense and Space.
Mr. Hoke added that the expert’s consortium will be providing on-site threat analysis for the European Authorities and response schemes to attacks, enabling them to respond effectively and rapidly to cyber risks.
Note- Airbus will be working in coordination with Atos- a European IT services cooperation while protecting the 17 EU entities from Cyber threats. Atos specializes in high-tech transactional services, unified communications, cloud, big data, and Cybersecurity services. It operates worldwide under the brands of Atos, Atos Consulting, Atos Healthcare, Atos Worldgrid, Bull, Canopy, Unify and Worldline.
