A report published on Monday by China’s National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team (CNCERT) says that a major portion of cyber attacks which took place in 2018 on Chinese Networks came from the borders of United States.
The report also includes a warning which says that China is prepared to launch retaliated cyber attacks on the full scale on the United States.
CNCERT has disclosed in the report that in the past year over 14,000 servers being controlled by Trojan Viruses or Botnets from the US were used to take over 3.34 million host computers in China.
And the number of server attacks was increasing by 90% year on year as per a fresh report released by Xinhua News Agency.
CNCERT claims that the previous year witnessed over 3,607 Chinese websites being infected by Trojan Viruses coming from 3,325 IP addresses based in the United States- an increase of 43% when compared to the stats of 2017.
Not only does the intelligence of United States implant viruses, but it also hacks info from the terminals of Chinese customers to steal info from apps, websites- specifically those connected to military and government organizations.
“We know how to retaliate such attacks in cyber fashion and the consequences might prove very much threatening to the US,” said a Beijing government’s military expert to Global Times.
On the other hand, the Trump administration claims that China and the companies operating in its province pose as a major threat to US Cyber and National security. Based on some circumstantial evidence, in Sept last year, US President Donald Trump also banned Chinese network supplier Huawei from supplying 5G network equipment to telecom carriers in the United States.
The 45th president later acknowledged his decision by saying that the vendor was supplying equipment induced with espionage tactics causing National Security fears.
