Radware to acquire ShieldSquare

Radware a load balancing and cybersecurity service offering company for data centers has announced that it is going to acquire Indian startup ShieldSquare for an undisclosed amount. The deal is expected to close by the 1Q of 2019 provided all the regulatory conditions are met by both sides.

ShieldSquare is a Bot mitigation company which helps process about a trillion API calls every year and helps companies thwart risks related to sophisticated cyber attacks in a smart way.

Radware wants to expand its security portfolio with the acquisition of ShieldSquare’s bot management solutions that can be integrated into the company’s portfolio or be offered as a standalone product offering.

“We choose ShieldSquare because their strong technology synergy, advanced machine learning skills can help expand the existing cloud security services of Radware”, said Roy Zisapel, the CEO of Radware.

Industry analysts suggest that Radware is planning to offer ShieldSquare’s bot mitigation solutions under its new Radware Bot Manager Product line by May this year. The new solution is expected to enhance Radware’s existing cloud security protection and be able to cover more e-commerce attacks.

Founded in 1997, Mahwah based Radware is found to be offering solutions for application delivery, network security and load balancing. It has managed to create a business presence on a worldwide note and has been bagging customers from the financial sector, insurance, e-commerce, manufacturing, retail, government, and healthcare as well as educational fields.
