Specops, a UK Based Password Management solution vendor has come up with a report that Food Manufacturing and Hospitality companies pay the least heed to Cybersecurity hygiene making their businesses vulnerable to hacks and malware attacks.
This was confirmed after the company took some government figures into account and concluded that on average such firms invest £1,080 per year.
Although the figure is too low, it is estimated to be slightly better than the year 2017-2018 where companies used to invest just £900 per year on average.
The Password management service offering company From Stockholm said that firms into finance and insurance businesses invested most in Cybersecurity as the study discovered that there were investing £23,000 on an avg. And the figure is slightly better than in previous years where finance and insurance businesses were just interested in spending £15,470/yr.
Standing second in the list are companies related to social care and health as their annual spending happens to be £16,450 for the year 2018-19- an astronomical rise of 506% in the spending of cybersecurity for the tear 2017-18 where the avg outlay was just £2,640.
“As cyber-attacks are becoming sophisticated and complex, Specops software feels that firms should take such attacks as a high priority and should start investing a healthy amount to safeguard their digital platforms from cyber threats and breaches”, says Darren James, a senior Cybersecurity expert from Specops Software.
Therefore, the company has proven stats that say that food firms operating in the UK invest low to prevent the threat of cyber attacks.
