The National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) of the UK has advised online users to avoid the following list of passwords if they want to keep their online presence secure and safe from hackers.
GCHQ’s cybersecurity wing states that if an online user happens to see the password, then he/she should change it on an immediate note. It has stated that the password “123456” is being used 23 million times in breaches and the other popular passwords happen to be Sk8erboi, pa$$word, high420, Iloveyou, Blink 182, and such.
Security experts have warned the users that they need to create an alphanumeric password and include a special character and an uppercase letter in the password which has to at least have 8 characters. And continent names, regional names, animal names, movie names, football stars names, Hollywood stars names should be strictly avoided. And using different passwords for each login is important and using password managers also helps.
NCSC released the list of most dangerous password after analyzing more than 5 million passwords exposed during online leaks on a global note- and it only includes those of Brits and Americans.
The list of 25 worst passwords is as follows—123456, PASSWORD, 123456789, 12345, 111111, 1234567, SUNSHINE, QWERTY, ILOVEYOU, PRINCESS, 666666, ABC123, FOOTBALL, 123123, MONKEY, 654321, CHARLIE, AA123456, DONALD TRUMP, PASSWORD1,!@#$%&*, WELCOME, ADMIN, QWERTY123,
Hope, the list will help convince people to avoid the use of the above-listed password to protect their identity online.
