VMware has decided to boost its cloud security plans by offering innovative and advanced solutions. And the first one happens to be the new VMware Advanced Security solution for Cloud Foundation which helps companies get rid of their legacy security solutions and offer Unified Protection across multi-cloud environments whether they are public or private.
And as a recent survey conducted by the said technology company has found that 75% of companies are depending on customized perimeter firewalls, VMware has developed three new technologies to secure data center workloads throughout their life cycle.
Those are – VMware Carbon Black Technology which helps secure workloads with Real-Time Workload Audit or Remediation. As the name itself suggests, the product was developed after acquiring Carbon Black company and has helped the California based company frame out the Next Generation Anti-Virus and Endpoint Detection & Response(EDR). The Plan is to integrate Carbon Black into vSphere to gain an agentless solution which doesn’t need an antivirus as a security backup,
Coming to VMware NSX Distributed IDS/IPS, it is service defined firewall that helps detect unauthorized infiltration making it easier to get deep visibility. Users can also customize their policies on an application-specific basis which in-turn reduces the false positives.
VMware NSX Web Application helps secure web servers by seeing that they have enough computation capacity for maximum security filtering even under the utmost loads. This is being achieved through some machine learning tools and app-specific rules that help gain strong security with a lower rate of false positives.
And as the VMware Carbon Black Cloud supports MITRE Attack Framework, users can begin searching for specific Tactics, Techniques and Procedures(TTP) which help pre-determine cyber threats and help in improving the wholesome security procedure.
Furthermore, all three remediation services will help users protect their workloads across multi-cloud environments.
