Apple announced its iOS 14 at the Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday and made it clear that its next version of the Operating system expected to be released by next fall will be packed with ‘Utmost’ mobile security features.
Firstly, the technology giant has made it clear that it will bring in significant changes to the location tracking feature in its next version of iOS. As per the disclosure made in the conference, iOS 14 will now allow users to share approximate location data to apps instead of collecting the precise location. So, for instance, if you take the maps to feature into account, it might help the food delivery app or the car-sharing app to show you a general location instead of pinpoint the building or place you’re in.
Furthermore, iOS 14 will from now on notify its users with an orange dot on the upper right corner of the screen whenever an app is using the camera or microphone for operational purposes.
And coming to the third and most significant change, Apple will allow app developers to specify the data their apps will be collecting from a user- putting to an end of fraudulent data collection practices which apps usually do otherwise.
Moreover, Apple will come up with more vigilant features to keep a check on trackers that offer troves of data from mobile users preventing ads and trackers from invading their privacy.
Note- All the devices running on iOS 13 will be eligible and supporting the next version i.e. iOS 14. So, those using iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone Pro Max, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE and 7th gen iPod Touch can stay assured of the update.
