Microsoft offers Mobile Security protection for Android users

Microsoft (MS) has announced that it is entering a $10 Billion mobile security market with its Defender ATP Antivirus designed for Android devices. However, the catch is that the solution will not be available in the open market and so Android device users cannot download it from the Google Play Store.

The American technology giant has specified in its update that its Defender ATP Antivirus will only be available to Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection clients and pretty soon will also be launching a version for iOS.

As cyber threats in mobile space are becoming imperative, the Satya Nadella led company will from now on assist Android users to protect themselves from phishing, network, and website-related attacks along with malicious devices.

Furthermore, MS Defender ATP will also block android users from insecure network connections and insecure URLs along with malware based on signatures.

As there is an increase in Phishing Attacks which steal sensitive information like banking details, passwords, and card number, Microsoft has come up with a solution in the form of Defender ATP which blocks all such links.

Note 1- Users of Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection who paid for the service need to turn on the beta functionality to test the Android security defender app.

Note 2- Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection is an enterprise endpoint security solution designed to help respond and thwart advanced cyber threats.
