Beware of this Google Search Engine Cyber Scam in the UK

All those who require money and loans are most likely to get attracted to the advertisements posted on the Google search engine that offer various financial advertisements.

But an organization named ‘Which?’ that fights for people’s data privacy says that people are falling easy prey to phoney financial advertisements posted on Google these days as fraudsters are exploiting Google’s 21 day grace period offered for verification to target victims.

The scams are mostly taking place in the UK where a lady who was in the mid-’40s lost £160,000 after clicking on a web link related to an investment scheme meant to dupe the victims. Some hacking groups are also seen mimicking note charities by advertising that they will help victims who are in extreme financial distress.

Note- As per the rule published by Google, all companies get a 21 day period to submit valid documents for verification. But the web search giant allows users to start advertising their products & services from the very first day of their account creation.

Investigators from Which? have warned that cybercriminals are seen exploiting this rule and duping online users in the name of offering financial aid to the needy.

Although Google took note of the activity and removed the rule for some users from this month, still many companies have to be filtered out to curb the fraud.

The Alphabet Inc’s subsidiary needs to verify the firms before a

allowing them to publish content on its search engine says Jenny Ross, working for editing arm related to Finances in Which?.

Moreover, those suffering on roadsides, due to accidents or breakdowns, are also been targeted by fraudsters posting as Insurers via click to dial ads.

Google says that it has been trying to curb such ad scams by taking verification as a priority, but in reality has failed in curbing debt charity related ad scams on complete note adds Jenny.

So, all you guys out there in the UK, be aware of such online frauds, as in most cases, the money lost in such cyber scams is not that easy to recover.
