Any C-level employee of any organization will never wish to take the data breach blame in their tenure and that’s a thinking that seems fair enough. And according to a study, the fear of loosing their job if a data breach is disclosed seems to make nearly two-thirds (63%) of IT leaders hide such incidents from the world.
In a poll conducted by Keeper Security that witnessed nearly 1000 respondents disclosing their minds, it was revealed that nearly 630 respondents among them wished to hide such cyber attacks as it not only dents the reputation of the organization but also affects their career on a severe note.
Keeper Security 2021 Cybersecurity Census Report states that nearly 92% of respondents revealed that their organization suffered a data breach in the past one year. And almost 1 in every 10 businesses suffered a loss of £1 million from the beginning of 2020 till date.
Interestingly! Many of the IT leaders have been hiding the facts from the Government, users and data watchdogs, instead of going for an information share.
But assured that they will fill in all the security gaps existing in their infrastructure and will never let happen such things in future… thank god!
Making the things worse is the new menace that has caught up with the trend of remote working. In such scenarios, hackers target employees and will then invade a corporate network by conducting phishing or brute force attacks.
In coming months, Keeper Security expects to conduct a study on respondents belonging to companies operating in entire west such as Canada, US and other parts of Europe. But for now, it has disclosed the mind set of CTOs leading companies in and around Britain.
