CloudKnox Security that was earlier speculated to be acquired by IT giant Wipro has made a recent announcement that it is now a part of the American Technology giant Microsoft. Thus, with the latest purchase of the identity and access management startup, the Satya Nadella led company has added a fourth company to its acquisition list this year.
After acquiring CyberX, Refirm, and RiskIQ last month, the Windows Operating System maker seems to have bought the said threat intelligence startup for a fancy price.
Founded in the year 2015, CloudKnox helps in cutting down risks and security breaches in corporate networks. It is also a hit among customers using Amazon Web Services as it offers granular visibility, continuous monitoring, and automated remediation to all customers of Amazon Active Directory.
As customers are showing a lot of interest in adopting hybrid and multi-cloud service platforms, CloudKnox offers privileged access with flexible work models to gain maximum cloud adoption benefits.
After the acquisition, Microsoft is planning to integrate the newly acquired technology into its 365 Defender, Azure Defender, and Azure Sentinel products along with its Active Directory services.
Note- As the past year i.e. 2020 was swept off with Corona Virus pandemic-led global shutdown and business slowdown, Microsoft is planning to invest $20 billion in the activity of acquisitions this year and seems to be focusing majorly on startups and technology spun-ups.
