After trump administration decided to ban the use of Huawei 5G equipment in the government offices of the United States since Sept’18, the Chinese vendor has been struggling to ring-in its sales figures.
Last month, after Google announced that it will no longer offer support to Huawei smartphones running on Android, the issue seems to have deteriorated.
But now, things seem to be falling in the right place for Huawei as it has officially disclosed that the company has managed to obtain 46 commercial 5G contracts from 30 countries despite US ban. This includes a lion’s share from telecom service providers operating in the UK.
Now, news is out that Google has changed its mind and has decided to play a peacemaker’s role between Huawei officials and the White House.
Reason, Huawei happens to be a leader in creating the next generation wireless networks and a No-2 smartphone maker in the world. If Google decides to withdraw its support to Huawei devices now and in the near future, then it could cut down a large share in revenue to the web search giant via android licensing.
Meanwhile, the government of China has decided to retaliate to the 5G ban decision by waging a war against American technology giant Microsoft. The Xi Jinping led nation is reported to ban the usage of Microsoft products and services from Sept this year.
Additionally, Huawei has announced that it will fork the Android version of Google soon for its smartphone users. Meaning, the services will now-on miss the Google Play Protect feature which automatically scans for malware, viruses and cyber threats. Therefore, all those Huawei mobiles running on Android and those launched in the future will miss the play protect security- means they will be less secure and can easily be hacked.
Accordingly, those using the devices in the United States and sending sensitive info will be at high risk of eavesdropping and spying as most of the info will not be transmitted with end-to-end encryption. And this could result in putting the US National Security at risk.
So, to avoid all such troubles, Google is all set to play a negotiator’s role between Huawei and Trump Administration- all to offer 5G benefits to the populace of America.
