American Computer Security vendor McAfee has recently introduced a new cloud security suite which helps protect Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) by smartly thwarting cyber attacks. Moreover, the cloud-based service offering also helps users from identifying and preventing cyber attacks on their on-premises databases.
McAfee Database Security Suite also enhances Amazon RDS security by protecting, managing and offering compliance for workloads related to cloud-based databases.
Furthermore, the service provider also helps in
1. Protecting data from cyber threats of any range by keeping a tab on the local database server and intercepting malevolent behavior in real time- all possible by McAfee Database Activity Monitoring feature
2. The McAfee Virtual Patching feature also helps detect missing security updates and applies vulnerable countermeasures and fixes misconfigurations found in its daily scan- thus cutting down the need for downtime
3. Data classification and identification of system audits is possible by the feature of McAfee Vulnerability Manager
Amazon Web Services customers can make McAfee Database Security as an additional layer of security to improve productivity and application performance
As per a research conducted by Gartner, by 2020 companies offering cloud managed services will triple in number- all due to the craze for cloud computing services. But at the same time, we will also observe misconfigurations leading to accidental data exposures and data breaches
Note- McAfee Database Security for RDS will now on be available with compatibility to Amazon Aurora with PostgreSQL as well.
