Mobile Security Firm Lookout receives FedRAMP authorization to protect govt data

Mobile Security Firm Lookout Inc has received authorization from the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) to protect government data. At the same time, the California based firm has also received permission to securely store intelligence data from the Joint Advisory Board (JAB) Provisional Authority comprising representatives from the Department of Defense (DOD), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the General Services Administration (GSA).

Therefore, those federal organizations interested in using the Mobile Endpoint Security of Lookout can go to the FedRamp Marketplace to avail of the solutions.

“Lookout’s FedRAMP certification comes at the time when the government agencies are looking to address their security challenges arising from work from home employees and Contractors,” said Jim Dolce, the CEO of Lookout. Thus, all those agencies looking to pursue the benefits of telework in the mobile-first world can seek the benefits of Lookout Inc’s technology.

Traditionally, Lookout offers clear-cut visibility into the mobile risks emerging during telework scenarios. It also helps in re-aligning the risks by integrating security into mobile management solutions.

Note- Lookout offers Cybersecurity applications for mobile devices. It was the world’s first firm to detect and analyze a malicious app called Pegasus in 2017 which was made by Israel’s NSO Group to spy on iPhone and Android devices. In the year 2018, the mobile endpoint solutions provider exposed the spyware campaigns launched by Dark Caracal- a hackers group funded by the Lebanon government.
