Zoom upgrades its Cybersecurity features to block Zoombombers

Video Conferencing App Zoom has introduced two new security features that allow the host to block unwanted guests (Zoom Bombers) in conference calls and alert them when a meeting is going to be hacked.

Zoom seems to have taken security seriously as soon as its app got hacked in May this year during the Corona Virus shutdown crisis as its user base grew humongous in just 45 days.

So, it has introduced a new feature where it began scanning social media accounts at high-risk meetings and will inform the users on how to keep the zoom hackers at bay. The company has specified in its latest press update that the new features will be available for free for all zoom users including those holding a free account and will be available in Mac, PC, and Linux and the mobile apps.

And as soon as the user deploys the suspend participants’ activity feature, then the whole of the video, audio, in-meeting chat, and annotations along with screen sharing and recording will be paused.

Meeting hosts can then share the user details and his/her activity as a screenshot to the Zoom’s Trust and Safety team.

Zoom Video Communications app in September this year added a PIN authentication feature which offers the user the privilege to enter a PIN sent via a text message to their phone, thus eliminating unwanted gate crashers.

Note- According to Wikipedia, Zoom’s product development teams are based in China, thus reducing the operational costs to half and to raise the profitability graph to new levels.
