US White House discusses Cyber Attacks on Quad Countries

Quad Countries that constitute Japan, United States, India, and Australia were seen discussing cyberattacks on their national infrastructure at the virtual meet held by the White House at the end of last week.

Jake Sullivan, the security advisor to the United States said that quad nations were seen discussing seriously the shortage of semiconductors and the impact of state funded attacks on critical infrastructure.

Disclosing the fact that the quad countries were seen working on a special squad to avoid cyber massacres such as the one that hit SolarWinds and Microsoft; Mr. Sullivan stated that they were in the process of gathering information to avoid such state-funded attacks in the future.

Readers of our Cybersecurity Insiders have to notify a fact that the response comes after Microsoft publicly disclosed a fact that a Chinese hacking group infiltrated its exchange server database that could have allowed the hackers sniff the data related to medical researchers, law firms, universities, defense contractors, and non-government organizations.

Meanwhile, China has requested the American tech giant not to make such accusations without providing valid evidence and reiterated the fact that their nation does not need to indulge in cyber warfare.

Note- An IBM security report released in March 2021 states that India is the second most attacked country in Asia Pacific Region and 40% of those attacks were related to Ransomware. The report of the computing giant says that most of the attacks were related to the Manufacturing and energy sectors.
