Samsung SDS, the IT wing of Samsung Group has won a defense mobile security project from Italy in March 2020. Thus, the said Italian project happens to be the first defense project of the South Korean Company which is already known to carry out mobile security projects from the US Department of Defense, US Army, the US Air Force, The US Marine Corps, and the Defense firms from Singapore and United Kingdom.
It’s expected that the company is said to provide a secure mobile security environment for the Italian government through its Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) system- a solution known to provide mobile security solutions to defense and public organizations across the globe.
Readers of Cybersecurity Insiders have to notify a fact over here that Italy handed over its mobile security project just after Samsung SDS gained an Information Security Common Criteria(CC) certificate for the Android and iOS Operating System for its EMM from the National Information Assurance Partnership)NIAP) of the National Security Agency….somewhere around mid-February this year.
In recent times, SDS has deepened its business presence by investing and working on the R&D of technologies such as blockchain, AI, IoT and Engineering Outsourcing. Currently, it has over 13 data centers and provides IT services across the globe through its 12 offices across 11 countries located in 4 continents.
Note- Samsung SDS employees are well paid and are required to allocate their 10 % of work hours to education. So, they are assigned various duties in this segment in the Samsung SDS Multi-Campus, which happens to be the largest IIT Institute in Korea.
