Artificial Intelligence Technology has the power to guess cyber attacks and digital frauds even before they could occur said an AI expert named Derek Manky at the virtual conference sponsored by the Institute for the Research of the Methodology of Intelligence in association with Israel Defense.
Sharing his insights on the current Cybersecurity landscape Mr. Manky who works as a Chief of Security Insights for Global Threat Alliance at Fortinet said that his company is having the potential to analyze over 100 billions items per day- all to defend the national infrastructure from various kinds of cyber threats.
All this is being possible through the 5 million devices constantly collecting Cyber Threat Intelligence Data across the world. And the information is then analyzed and sent to NATO, INTERPOL, and other major law enforcement agencies if they need special attention.
Manky added that the use of AI is been done to craft Game Boards and Heat Maps to figure out the ongoing cyber attacks and how serious their impact would be.
This is possible by collecting data regarding specific hackers/hacking groups and then analyzing their attack patterns, which gives us an insight on how seriously they can/will infiltrate critical systems.
Ex- IDF Intelligence Colonel Itai Shapira said that implementation of AI tools in detecting cyber attacks is not new. But the concept has been constantly evolving as per various intelligence disciplines.
Shapira viewed that all future recruits in intelligence community should have some basic skills to deal with Cybersecurity, and AI technology skills will help them become experts in analyzing cyber threats related to national security.
