Google has proudly announced that it is going to gain Actifio to protect its business critical workloads from cyber threats. The financial details of the deal are yet to be known, but the deal is said to get completed by March 2021.
Actifio is reported to be a data management and disaster recovery with an increasing number of enterprise customers as it is helps companies in keeping their data secure in digital transformations and assists them in gaining business resiliency, agility and smart access to the cloud environments.
Google is said to use the technology of Actifio to serve enterprise customers deploy and manage their critical workloads, including those in hybrid environments. Thus, all the backup and DR needs of Google Cloud will from now on be integrated with Actifio’s Disaster Recovery Management Services that helps business customers to increase their availability by simplifying and speeding up the backup and DR needs in an automated way.
Readers of Cybersecurity Insiders have to take a note of the point that Actifio will offer its on-premises backup software related services as usual to its enterprise customers even after acquisition.
Note 1- Actifio led by Ashutosh protects workloads across various database environments such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MYSQL, PostgreSQL, SAP HANA, and virtual machines offered by VMware, Hyper-V and Google Computer Engines.
Note 2–IBM, Sunguard Availability, HBO, Netflix, Time Warner Cable, NEC, Sanofi, Cole-Haan, KKR, Dell, Dassault Systemes, and some federal agencies in United States, Australia, UK and Canada are said to be using Actifio Backup and Disaster Recovery Software in their data storage environments.
