It did not take much time for hackers from Iran to launch a cyber attack on a US website to retaliate against Qasem Soleimani’s Assassination. The killing of the Revolutionary Guard General on Friday made the Iran Cyber Security Group Hackers launch a digital attack on Saturday leading to the defacement of the US Government website named Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP).
To those who do not know much about the FDLP program, it is a government initiative to make the feds publications to be available to the public at no cost.
Iranian hackers defaced this website just with few hours of airstrike on Qasem Soleimani and left a note reading- in the name of god>>Hacked by Iranian Cyber Security Group Hackers. The photo published had US President Donald Trump beaten by a fist of a Revolutionary Guard Insignia.
On Friday as soon as the US President admitted on Twitter (and then later deleted the post which said that the assassination of Iran’s Quds Force Commander was done under his full supervision), some media resources started to speculate of a possible attack on the US- probably in the form of a cyber attack as Iran funded hackers have devised the world’s most aggressive malware that triggers major disruptions to the US government and private entities.
BBC added in one of its publishing that the soft targets were those companies that we’re into the business of oil, power production, and transit systems along with some into manufacturing.
Donald Trump reacted to this news statement saying that his country’s military was ready to strike 52 Iranian sites if Tehran cyber attacks his nation’s IT infrastructure.
Note- Trump killed Soleimani as the later was planning to kill US diplomats and military personnel in Iraq and elsewhere.
