US Election 2020 might be influenced by Russian Cyber Attacks

All these days we have been talking a lot about US elections 2016 and their outcome influenced by Russian hackers. Now, the time has come to forget the past and look into the future as the 2020 Election Polls are fast approaching.

Some key Democrats and election analysts say that the outcome of the elections to be conducted this year might get influenced by malicious foreign actors if the event is not conducted in a secure manner.

The Brennan Center’s Electoral Reform program released a report last month which stressed the fact of testing backup systems and electronic voting machines before the November 2020 elections are conducted.

On the other hand, the Congress has been backing up the fact that $425M election spending needs to surge to $1.4 trillion for 2020 elections if in case, the white house wishes to conduct the elections in a fair and trustworthy manner. Mitch McConnell, the leader of the Republican Senate partially supported the bill and opinioned to have permanent security funding to ensure safe elections.

Democrats Mark Warner and Ron Wyden put forward the intelligence warnings that the Kremlin will try to disrupt the elections in 2020- similar to the 2016 elections where Donald Trump became the 45th US President. So, they are in favor of the bill which states to increase the funding.

FBI and CIA have issued a report on a joint note in early last year stating Russia, China, and Iran will seek to interfere in the election polls of 2020 to influence the perceptions of those voting in the elections. So, they have formed a secret alliance team that has started monitoring cyber attacks on electoral systems, misinformation spread on the web and a watch on all social media postings in around 50 states.

Hope, US succeeded in thwarting each and every cyberattack taking place on its electoral systems by foreign nations.
