Google offers secure BeyondCorp Enterprise Cloud model

Google has made an official announcement that its ‘Zero Trust’ cloud security model dubbed as BeyondCorp Enterprise Cloud is available for all enterprise users. Thus, the internet juggernaut said that employees working remotely could work securely with no dedicated virtual private network.

For corporate environments, cloud security controls often keep a tab of users who are accessing the services from inside or outside the network. The monitoring becomes crucial, especially when most of the employees are working remotely in the wake of COVID-19 crisis.

BeyondCorp Enterprise eases this task by shifting access controls from a regular perimeter to the individual users and devices accessing most sensitive applications and data that ensure employees are using the network with utmost cyber hygiene.

Google specified in its update that BeyondCorp Enterprise is an official extension of the previous version dubbed BeyondCorp Remote Access, where customers could protect only the most sensitive applications and data.

“We have brought to our customers the most cost-effective solution that disrupts minimally and adheres to all business processes, by using trust, reliability and scale”, said Sunil Potti, the Vice President of Google Cloud Security. He added that the latest offering will help prevent the corporate infrastructure from cyber threats that are lurking outside the network.

However, security analysts say that the latest offering is only compatible to be used with Google Chrome browsers that even offer embedded threat and data protection features that help prevent malicious and unintentional data loss and theft.

The Alphabet Inc’s subsidiary said that it is working on the concept of making the service available with other browsers in near future.
